Hi fellas, nice topic...
There are very good artists from Macedonia ...but the party promoters here (except distant point & bhooteshwara) sucks, they always trying to get the money and "f*ck" (disrespect) the artists! ...it's sad!
80% of the parties here don't have the appropriate deco, sound, equipment...compared with some new growing-up scenes its a big minus!
...and,
I think its a matter of how "professional" they are, and want to make something good...
Because of those things I'm playing only when my friends invite me...and of course when there's booking outside the country
Btw...the party freaks here...they are great, and don't deserve parties with unprofessional "organizations".. http://therangefreak.tk/ |

as both an music artist and a promoter, lemme say this bout proper art: if anyone would get off their lazy asses and make some, i'd be happy to have it, but i'm not very visual arts inclined and my art looks like shit.
can't expect promoters to do everything, if you're really building a scene from scratch.... |

Scene in the usa is pretty awesome. The people involved in organizing and those who attend are really great.

A huge reason why our scene in the midwest USA works so well is because parties are a cooperative effort between a lot of people. There are a few of us who organize the party, put up money, etc, but we have lots of help from people attending with deco, transporting artists, keeping people safe, etc.
It takes a while to collect what is required to run a decent size party, but you can start small (budget, space, sound, acts) and expand from there.

still pretty much underground here in Croatia...even after 10 years...music wise we either have dark...or the noisy full on cats-in-microwaves stuff...best you can hope to find is some Zenon style sound and some psybreaks, quality stuff but not my thing either...solid vibes though...small parties with around 200-300 people...nice number really, just the music got more and more depressing for me so I don't go to trance parties here much...open air parties are awesome though, especially on the coast

In the UK the "psychedelic scene" is pretty much dead, has been for a long while, certainly compared to how things were before the millenia.
Psytrance as another sub-genre of dance music tends to be exactly that, just another sub-genre of "rave", with the usual attendant group of hardcore fanatics, mostly DJs.

I don't know about Finlands scene. Big artists haven't really made any music lately. Texas Faggott released one album and Calamar Audio another and there really hasn't been any parties around, it's a bit sad since Suomisaundi is so special and I want it to continue forever. I'll take care of it myself if nothing else : )

As far as i know there are parties nearly every weekend in Finland. Basically parties take place in Helsinki and Tampere. Naturally in the winter time parties are indoors and therefore usually not underground parties. But there are some indoor parties in the country side as well and they tend to be more or less underground. And last summer there were at least two psy festivals so all in all i would say that Finnish scene is pretty strong considering that Finland is a small country crowd wise. |
