First of all, excuse me if much of this sounds like nonsense. It may to some people.. hehe, like yeah, I am sure some of it actually is. Just random thoughts, mmkkaay?

Well I was thinking how the 60s were in some way like the GOA days of the 90s which some of us experienced in full psychedelic colors. And how as we passed the year 2000 we began entering into a new vibe sort of like when the 60s psy vibe was taken away by the 70s/80s yuppie vibe. So if we are following the same pattern of the 60s, things should be getting more plastic everyday, hehehe

Fortunately we all might get rescued when the 5th dimensional vortex opens in the year 2012. But if nothing happens, then our collective faith in the psychesoteric will fall and we will become rational comercial people who do not believe in "magic" that much anymore. However long after that there may be certain events triggering a new awakening in a few people, like maybe the enviromental degradation in 2020 will become so bad that a few minds will be enlighted to seek for the most psychedlic groovy good deep truth and with that the good drum will begin to beat again. And the music will be magical and psy fullfilling again. People will start believing and living in amazing magical dimesnions again, with the cycle repeating itself once more.

Ofcourse I am only playing around with thoughts and who really knows what is going to happen, and BTW I do enjoy a lot of the music coming out these days as well.

But I also realize that we are now in a new era different then the GOA days, and it's hard to argue that this new era is actually MORE psychedelic, hehe. Which is fine and we should go with it, because the sun comes everyday and it will come tomorrow as well, but only to announce a NEW day. And this is the day we have to live.

I guess there is just a bit of nostalgia when you see how we went through so much magic in the GOA years, magic which you can't feel in the scene the same way today. Of course the magic is there somewhere, but the Goa years were like a psy frenzy, I mean I get the impression that back then the artists were not even looking for the magic because they were completely absorved in it already. They were tripping out, for real, with psychedelic experiences and magical feelings that they were bringing to the studio. It was a psychedelic rollercoaster through UFO dimesnions and it was real and people belived in it because they were living it even if half of it was just their imagination/interpretation.

And today it just all feels less impressive, more cynical, more rational, just seems less psychedelic. Perhaps we need to take a walk in the wild side.. and leave the shore again.

I guess for music to really blow your mind, amazing production and compostion is not enough. You need a vibe underneath that is for real, with some real sincerity seeking the real psy realms. With love for the art down to the bone !!!! With soul, freedom and a whole lot of passion and specially LOVE.

But I think it's all still here, there.. somewhere.

I mean we are all great folks here I suppose, and we are it.

Maybe the song remains the same.

And like I said, I do enojoy the music today as well. Maybe its just a different psychedlic blend.. but still tasty. But we have to live today and squeeze >>ALL<< the good vibes this day!!!

True and much nostalgic post heh!

I think that when goa trance came at the early 90's,it was the beggining of a new psychedelic era,and those who had the luck to experience this great opening was so much excited,no money was our interest, only the vibe and the magic of music with parties n dance at nature.
Now after more than 10 years psychedelic trance everything get commercial, money n fame is the basis and the true spirit is hidden somewhere in private parties..
Old people who have met the phase from the begining, are bored ,tired and disapointed as we see the scene changing so much, and the new ones dont care about the history...

Anyway I do not complain,I just say thanks to god who maked me born and and have the chance to live and experience this magical psychedelic era..

After the End,a new Begining startS..

I felt tears in my eyes while i read your post Aluxe, I'm so glad to hear that you believe that it's all still there, somewhere...by believing that it means that there is hope, for all of us to once again, or for the first time experience the magic to its fullest extent...
I feel that what you wrote is not only very true, but very moving, just by reading about the possibility of trance being in its original state once again I can already feel it, crave it..so powerful, and I appreciate your optimistic view on today's music, because sometimes it's better to ignore some of the bad production and some of the bad vibe, and rather appreciate and focus on the goodness of trance that is still here with us.

great post compa aluxe, very touching... the only thing i dont understand why you use rational as a bad thing and also... i dont think that things are gettin more rational at all... i think the greediness consumism an that shit is wot destroys the honor of any art.

PEACE!
lets keep the spirit alive!

Yeah, you are right, I did use the word rational like its even a negative, which I know is maybe unfair since we need reason for almost everything, even to write this post and make some sense.

But sometimes you can connect to the vibe directly, maybe its intuition or whatever, but you are there absorving life without thought or the need to rationalize. You are one with the groove and there is simply the experience and the feeling letting you connect through what seems like a direct channel to being in the present with your whole and entire being. It just feels real, because you are there understanding everything without even your mind coming in with a bunch of rationalisms trying to dissect and analyse the experience.

But I understand that we need reason, and I guess its always there to some degree. But you got to keep the balance and maybe try and understand what is the goal. Because perhaps the ultimate and most intimate experience with life is achived through feeling and not so much through reason. Sort of like making love which is not a matter of intellect but more a matter of feeling.

I guess all I was saying is that the Goa days seemed to be very much in the groove and soul of the experience, people were in a trance completely captivated through the feeling because it felt real and magical. And so it was easy to fly with the whole experience and become part of it. A feeling that I think is hard to get through rationalization alone.

But we go through eras, and phases of our life. Its all good.

We just got to not sell out our most free road, the one that took us to the magic once upon a time. Sometimes its the narrow way..

The psychedelic back to the psychedelic again.

And Gopinesh, Daydream and Psytheriatsunami.. thanks for the good vibes and thoughts.

hey alux maybe u experienced changes in u?
i agree with u about the changes in the general psychedelic coseption about trance but think of what u went through at those same years. u r looking at the world now through a different pair of glasses.
anyway its not a secret that trance is no longer that altenative and different then other music styles and the original ideas got a bit twisted...
i guess in the near time all kinds of uncommercial alternative communities will rize and fall we just need to take care of our own.

but what do i know anyway?

Intention and sincerity. Very true.

no worries...the true spirit of psychedelic trance experience is only hibernating...if you have open eyes and ears you can hear it breathing, always aware and ready to manifest itself at any time when the conditions are right. Its up to each one of us to do our best not to turn disillusioned and bitter and to keep it real

Let it RIP.

The goatrance era is over. Has been for years. Psytrance replaced it, full-on replaced that, minimal and early progressive replaced that, neo-full-on replaced that, and now fluffy progressive is replacing this. By now, there is nothing left of the old goa spirit in the music, not more than Space Oddity carried on with the vibe of Voodoo Child. Listen to some Green Nuns of the Revolution and then listen to D-Nox and Beckers, see my point?

I'm not saying this is a bad thing - just like there will always be psychedelic rock out there and it can kick ass, there will always be some awesome psychedelic trance music to give us that wild colorful ride. The rest of the world may like the new and commercial vibe (yes, it's commercial, made for masses, non-experimental, no-rough-edges, and utterly planned and unspontaneous music nowadays), it just causes me to steer out of the mainstream and look for that something special wherever it may be. Hell, I can groove to some Extrawelt and have some fun. It's just different fun.

Let it go. Let the past be the past. Enjoy the now. Listen to some smooth glitch/IDM music when you want some chills up your spine. Go to a Venetian Snares act when you want a headfuck on psychedelic drugs to go wild to. If Tsuyoshi could get himself to say it, so should the rest of the world: Let it RIP.
