Well i think we all know where this started...the fashion for psychedelic drugs gave its name to the visual style of psychedelia, a term describing a category of rock music known as psychedelic rock. visual art, fashion, and culture that is associated originally with the high 1960s, hippies, and the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco, California. Psychedelia generally began in 1966, but truly took off in 1967 with the Summer of Love. Although associated with San Francisco, the style soon spread across the U.S.A., and worldwide.
The counterculture of the 1960s had a strong influence on the popular culture of the early 1970s, and is well recognized even by those who are naďve to its psychedelic origins. It later became linked to a style of electronic dance music commonly known as psytrance.
As much as the psychedelic era pushed for a return to nature, the 1980s pushed for a return to the 1950s. This led into the 1990s mirroring the technology drive of the early 1960s.[citation needed]
With the fall of the technology market, resurgence of ecological crisis, war, war protests, and extreme tension over civil liberties, the 2000s are carrying some echos of the 1960s mentality. In recent years there been has seen a strong decline in interest in space exploration and science fiction (i.e. Star Trek) replaced with a renewed interest in the earth and fantasy (i.e. The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter).
Where r we all heading with it ? what do u expect to happen after this ? Where will u be in 2020 ? Do u think by then we will still be listenin to so called psychedelic trance? or some new age music will show up and psy trance will be in history and only true lovers will listen to it (( just like the acid rock nowadays )) ??
Do u want it to change by the time? or u think this music would last somehow? Or is it typical that the culture will alwayz be there but music genres will keep changing ?! & what abt the ppl in this scene & Culture ? will they get better or juz keep dissing the scene while they act they love it ?!!!
Do u love this culture to the core that u wud put all ur efforts to make it even better? Or u demand some kind of revolution ?!!

As long as people continue hyping acid and other psychedelic substances, I think everything will be a ok (keep chemical powders away from the scene ja). The experience people who produce psytrance will have will be reflected in their music and make it mad psychedelic. Not many years ago,we had a "dry" period with non-psy-psytrance. . This wave ended’ish and now we got twisted hard psychedelic music like Derango ect. So all good, it goes in waves. Let's hope for many good spiritual, comic, trippy, forest, sunshine, happy, epic, dramatic, freakky ect releases. On the commercial side it's all up to the labels and their view of what is in and what is out. Right now, to me PSY seems to be getting more in the in many years. --- Let the peoples personalities be reflected in our psychedelic music. It makes each trip so fun and personal. – No, it’s not all about the ,,drugs”, but it is important for the basis of the sound and evolution.¨I think PSYtrance is on a HUGE uprise, and to say that it is on a down rise is a lie.. Lies I tell you. It hasn't been since.. well, the end 80's and start of 90's .. I think todays (2006) is a mark in our history, and I think it will continue to rise. .. The more "horrible" and non-easy listening the music gets, the fewer "fakers, if you know what I mean" will ruin the purity of ''psychedelic trance dance stand still and wonder music''

The experience that the people who produce psy-trance will have, will for sure be reflected in their music production and make it highly psychedelic (cosmic, trippy, doen’t matter). Not so many years ago, we had a "dry" period with non-psy-psytrance. . So all is good, evolution, it goes in waves. Much of the problem for me is the need to adopt the music to fit the dance floor. There is nothing wrong with dancing, and then just standing there, like a dead ape, gazing at what the feelings inside a track is, to be stuck in a split second of time. – It’s not “just” about the dunk dunk, it’s about the background. That is what becomes more visible on a ride.

I get this feeling that the scene will evolve over the years which would incorporate sounds and visuals, thus adding a different dimension to the whole experience,I also see technology being used as a platter for creative display. Psy trance as we know it would evolve in sound but be true to its roots and soul. |

Everything changes and so does the music, change is good and psychedelic is the word used for an ever changing combination of music, drugs and feelings...Definately that the music changed a lot already and is heading somewere else but people who are on this frequency of life change continuously to other kind of electronic psychedelic music...All is good as long as it's psychedelic!

well .. the music has changed a lot since it first came out and we see a lot of genres in the scene now because of the reson that ppl want to hear more varities from the smae sound.. i think this will keep happenin ...with more and more styles or genres comin out...but when this happens more and more ppl goin to get into the scene ..whihc will result in a lot of values from the original message of psy trance being lost (which is very evident right now)
but yea def goin to grow,more and more psykadelic sounds will arise and like psychedelic pineapples mentioned more visuals will be incorporated to give a more psykadlik effect .....
will have to wait and see...
