imo it`s music that stimulates u`r braincells ...it`s music that makes `em dance inside u`r head ,bang against each other, spin around themselves get dizzy and loose balance.... kinda like alchohol ....or maybe not...
in short psychadelic music is music that takes u to a higher state of consciousness...
  if u dig deep enough u just might reach the sky...

nobody knows what "Psychedelic" really stands for...it's a very abstract term...just like Kaz wrote: " If I could define it, it wouldn't be psychedelic anymore..." and Iv'e asked some artists about it, but they also couldn't put it into words..I guess one way to discribe "Psychedelic" could be "anything that combines with drugs..."

this is psychedelia for me ...
the first day of the new year, in goa .. goa gil is playing 380 volts by sun project .. suddenly, everyone is stomping on the floor , dust is rising .. i feel compelled to get up ..
thats psychedelia ..
spending a hundred and twenty dollars on a cab ride to an atomic pulse party .. with only three dollars left in your pocket to get home to the next city ..
thats a love for psychedelia ..
everyone in this froum know what im talking about . . .
you cant really explain it to someone else .. but when you're given that music .. it's suddenly all so real ..!!!!

Historically psychedelica is all about the visual experience hence hallucinogetic. Most psytrance is nowadays hypnotic so hardly psychedelic imo. Minimal, progressive and prog house are not even coming close...hardly elements that touch the visual side of the brain...Look at the early goa sleeves and now the abstract, modern sleeves in (psy)trance. Its not about the visual side anymore.
Stuff like Shpongle is highly psychedelic or the latest FSOL...or early ORB...that is psychedelic imo....
