what the hell is a psychedelic movie anyways? people sure seem to think that movies about drug abuse are psychedelic movies. i can't think of even one psychedelic movie, well maybe that yellow submarine movie from the beatles?           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

Mmm... yellow submarine, guess so? Havent seen it. But take "Waking Life" Now thats a psychedelic movie. Have you seen it? And last episode of "The Animatrix" Now that is a perfect example of a "typical" psychedelic scene. But there is a thin line between a psychedelic and a trippy movie. And yhea, drugs can help

When I saw "Hypercube" on LSD, i was convinced that it was ment to be seen on LSD. But i know.. I was proberly wrong. But it shure was a good movie

surely most of us felt sort of unreal after the first time we saw the matrix? i know i did. or that movie pi, it's pretty cool and all, but psychedelic? also that movie blueberry has some very trippy scenes which some might find psychedelic. can't remember what the last animatrix episode was like. was it the one about the ghost house in japan? waking life is the animated movie, right? like sort of animated, as if they placed filters on top of real footage?

The Matrix left a big impression on me yhea, but i agree. Its NOT a psychedelic movie, and neighter is "Pi" Though pi is more psychedelic then "The Matrix" .. Pi is psychotic

The last movie is "Matriculated": A small group of rebels have captured a sentient robot and proceed to program it to act as an ally for the human resistance... (Written and directed by Peter Chung)

And yes, thats the movie Traveller.. See it! Trust me on this Or have you seen it?

Mulholland Dr. would be my pick for psychedelic movie extravaganza . Very surreal and superb/deep story.

Yellow Submarine indeed is one of the prime examples of a psychedelic movie.

Well, whenever I watch a movie that I somehow connect it to the psytrance scene (like movies from which samples came from, or movies with psytracks in it, or movies with psychedelic drugs trips, etc) I post a little review here, ALWAYS describing a little the movie, but WITHOUT spoiling the movieīs plots.

So people can see what the movies are about and decide for theirselves (maybe after a little google search) if itīs worth to see.

The important point is: to give a little description of the movie, so people always know why Iīm posting the movies:

- because of the samples (Tomb Rider 2 {triptych running out of time} and The Mummy 2 {Melicia - Grip}) I really donīt like any of these two movies.
- because itīs about drugs (Fear and Loating or The Trip)
- because itīs alternative (Mullholand drive and Waking Life)
- high sampled science fiction (Matrix, Star Wars)
- About parties (Liquid Crystal, Kaharana or gathering).
- Psychedelic crazy movies (weird things happens all the time): Altered States
- Or just different, twisted movies like OLD BOY.

Just search for my posts in this thread, thereīs more then 20 replies of mine.

Respect!

Ah okay, so a better title to this thread would be something like "movies related to psytrance in one way or another"           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

I just saw Donnie Darko last night... now that's a great film! I wonder if it's been sampled much?

@ Psytones:
Hypercube.... to me it is a plycodelic movie...... not all the time but there are some scenes in it that are just mind blasting, plus all of te concept behind it.... just really good.
There is one mouvie with Johnny Depp that I can't remember the name..... he is a lawyer and there is a scene were he has taken some acid and is walking in to a Hotel in Vegas and things start to look just really psycodelic.... will remember the name and post again.... or if some of you remember....           "open your mind....you might just see that there isn't anything to be seen"
