Hi there.
I dont really know where to start. I have been trying for a while now. I simply dont know where to look or how to get started.
So do you have any tips and trick when it comes to making Psybient/psychill basslines? Maybe some tutorials?
Peace out

I seem to remember OTT dropping some psybient bass science over at Psymusic UK forums. But I could be completely wrong, have tried looking for it with no luck. If any one has linkage would be totally cool. |

For ambient/chill i like to use deep subby basses, a bit of attack in amp envelope, some delay, maybe just a little bit reverb, portamento (why not?) for dub/chill....
But depends of the track...For example now i work in a downtempo ambient/trance track and so i wanted a bass like kbbb, saw wave with low filter cutoff and a good eq.
Unfortunatly i'm afraid you cant find any tutorial about and the reason is that there isnt a specific formula for this genre, ok you can find some like how can you make drones, pads, atmospheres etc but the main idea is completly free...you have all the freedom to make anything you want (That's my opinion).
I can send you some bass presets for sylenth if you want! let me know

My passion is progressive psy in a zenon records style and other alternative psychedelic styles like psydubstep (bird of prey kind of thing) psytech (like Grouch) and midtempo breaks (kalya scintilla, tipper)....
...is anyone partying to these sounds in Portugal? From what I can find the outdoors seems to be pretty much full-on and darkpsy all the way and the progressive scene seems to be more house focused...?

get hold of some midi bass files, like the 5 pin media ones. set a nice tempo in your DAW, set a vst going playing the midifiles, move the notes around/add delete etc, change octaves and go through some presets in the vsts till you hit something that sounds good, Then tweak away. |
