i've noticed the amount of recs i've bought ....i would have some i reckon arent really genuine psy trance ....
ie alien project - aztechno dream album but many of the tune use the same bassline ...and sound very samey !
imo - its alongs the lines of hardtrance than genuine psy trance ....
same goes for the new ticon album ....i wouldnt class that as psy trance ...more prog trance ..
though some will disagree with what i've said ...!

Not all trance is psychedelic.
Let me give an analogy from the art world. Take Dali and El Greco. Both of them make vibrant, lifelike images, with rather similar painting technique even though they lived hundreds of years apart. Only one of them is surreal. It doesn't mean that El Greco wasn't a talented artist.
Music that doesn't try to do to your brain something different that just making you dance, feel the groove or feel happy and smiling isn't psychedelic. There's Pink Floyd and there's Bob Marley. There's Electric Universe and there's Ticon. In both cases, the former is psychedelic while the latter isn't. I'm not saying Ticon isn't any good, but give me a break, listen to psytrance from two to ten years ago, and then listen to Ticon. The difference strikes you immediately.
I think it's a shame that psychedelia is considered less important than the danceablity factor.

for years there was a music called goa or maybe trance and all music fits in this drawer
year by year the people started to be individual and make some new sounds....
suddenly a mess of drawers are there,

there are too much drawers and too much different meanings to the music
like Rosengreen i would say it a matter of taste

Music genres are bored music journalists' playground. Don't bother to put everything in specific slots, there's so much good music around almost as much as bad. When you invest too much effort in generalization you miss the whole point. Just the enjoy the music. And don't forget to bring the towel.
