Hey guys,
I am wanting to add a bit of techno sounding percussion into my psy tracks..
Basically what i want to know is how to get that nice tech cymbal (listen to joris voorn).. i think it is a ride cymbal with the pitch adjusted and a bit of reverb but i am having difficulty replicating it....
any advice is appreciated |

Depends who's techno you're trying to emulate. I haven't heard Joris Voorn at all, but when I make techno I just run all the percussion through a group with quadrafuzz on it. I think techno percussion is very squashed and distorted to give it more grit. |

I gate the hell out of my percussion for a techno sound. I have a compressor before the gate which I tweak after choosing the gate threshold to get everything coming through nicely. |
