Who remembers the beginning of psy trance in Japan ?? Some of the early parties I remember were
Green Nuns-Yokohama bay hall july 97-Hiros party
Time Trance (Eimy-remember her ??) Koxbox, Dimitri-Oct 97, half built building in Shibuya
Astral Projection-same building maybe Nov 97 ?
Goagil-same building-Nov 07 ??
New years 97/98 Miko-warehouse shinagawa
Strong Sun Moon festival-Gifu July 98 with juno reactor, Tsyoshi and Miko
First big Vison quest parties-Cosmosis and Jorg and then GMS and Miko
Vison Quest-Tim Shuldt/Psychoas and Dino-Yokohama bay hall
Hiros enigma party on fuji san-june 98-Infected Mushroom and GMS
Chikuya-Nijima Island with Goagil |

this is just before i came to japan.
wish i could have been at these parties...
all i know is the beggining of the BIG organizations from the start of 1999.

dunno if those were the beginnings, but i remember those half built building parties (isn't that the place that is currently the club womb??) aa man, those were intense... and bay hall of course, man..
good good memories... |

I think you are talking about TIME TRANCE building in Shibuya located where WOMB is presently. This is one of the early GOA underground parties in Tokyo. Organizer called by EIMY. She was the first one to bring in GOA trance artists like GOA GIL and Astral Projection. Compared to those kind of party vibes its a SAD scene in Tokyo now. |

I remember a party I went in a small club in Osaka, back in 95 november, with Green Nuns of Revolution as the main act. And as a credit Avikal himself decorated the club, with was then an innovative deco: fluo strings. I remember that a lot of people were amazed by the deco and the lack of "normal" disco lights, it was easy to realise this: they didn't dance at first, just kept staring upward. "Very first party of their lives", I remember I commented to a friend. At the time, goa was the ruling genre, and no need to say that the vibe was great, everybody smiling and all the stuff. As for myself I recall a very important fact of my life as a trancer: it was the first time I saw everybody in the dance floor dancing the same way, I mean, instead of dancing "housey" (like I did then because I was into house and techno, and you dance house like you were having a seizure, LOL), people were stomping the foot on the floor - and I wonder if this isn't a Japanese creation? LOL.
Last year I just crossed this club when shopping in America Mura and my heart sink when I saw this club. Almost a decade of trance in Japan, longer than any girlfriend I remember of. LOL.

Old Skool, thnx for the name.. EIMY, it brought back some long lost memory of that time.. but as for the scene now, i agree it has changed, but there are always good parties still around if u search, this summer i've been to at least 2 i have quite enjoyed, the discovalley party in okutama, and the global dat mafia party last weekend.. if u are still in tokyo and wish to enjoy the 'good' vibe parties that happen these days, u might want to check out:

thanks for the offer but as a matter of fact I got too disappointed in Japanese scene I'm an inactive guy hiding...Hehe
I know:
EDEN (TRIP!!) PAPIER☆NORI(HISTORIA/TRIP!!)
These guys likes to hang around with DJ Seven
I met all of them after I became inactive so they only know like about 5% of me. hehe
Before GOA trance popped in Tokyo around 94/95, there were underground parties like
Twilight Zone(91/92), Key Energy(93/94), Odyssey(93/94)
The first after hour parties at Breakfast club, and Maniac Love when just got built.
My vibe is around there still, stuck in time.

I also rememebr another quite good party at Laforte Museum in Roppongi with Tsyoshi and Ubar Tmar-what a place to have a party-I still have the warning about drugs posters on my toilet wall here in NZ! Haha!!

Well guys, do you remember parties like Aurora in 96? There are links to all those old organizers in maniaciq.net . What amazed me most is that some of them are still throwing parties locally. Worhty a visit, I think.

I have the cd mixed by Tsyoshi somewhere-wasnt that party at Massahre whatever in Chiba ??
Anybody go the Equinox party the year before the Strong Sun Moon festival ??
anyway I'm sure the scene is quite different now to what it used to be-I left in 2000 and there were quite a few Kogarus creeping into the parties-I can only imagine what a Vison Quest party looks like now-haha-whatever happened to Semon-is he still around ??
I also remember Russ in his white pants-trademark!! Still have them Russ??
