well Chaos Existence used to have a physical store in Portland, but it never made cents $-wise ya know? so he's only online now.
there are some shops around the bay area that you can go to. there's a couple on haight in sf i think and like a place in san jose(?)
greensector in LA as well.

Harmonic Motion in Boulder, Colorado is a physical store that sells psytrance, along with an excellent selection of chill, IDM, Techno, and more experimental DnB and hip-hop. Sometimes they're well-stocked, for example right after a shipment goes through, which is every 1-2 months or so, depending on the demand. They're also online at

Ceiba just closed their doors but are reopening at a pretty nice location on upper haight here in SF. They should be back up and running soon.

Yeah, right.
Not even Green Sector exists any more (the physical store). No stores exist in So Cal (as far as I know). |

even though saiko and psyshop are abroad, they are cheaper and faster than the locals. its sad to think that you can get cds from hongkong faster than you can from nyc!
here are some other shops and labels you can buy cds from online that are all based in the usa afaik.
or at least north america... 
www.interchill.com - the huge ambient label. they have a great shop. based in canada.
www.databloem.com - Databloem and dataObscura are electronic music labels specialising in ambient,
ambient-techno, groove ambient, experimental and related emusic
www.waveformhq.com has the new phutureprimitive, and bluetech albums. not to mention tons of other chill releases.
www.nativestaterecords.com - will be a source for us based psychill
www.trufflerecords.com based in SoCal, they have a new compilation release out. not a shop per se, but you can buy thier comp direct, which is nice.
www.kagdilarecords.com - was based in california afaik, they have a new comp out also. and a decent shop , which looks like a lot of sale items from a couple years ago or more. cds from 8.50!
www.ear-rational.com in boulder CO has a huge selection of interesting musics, experimental, chillout, techno, IDM, FAX, and rare weird shit youve never heard of guaranteed.
