Pretty much every top producer makes the psy squelch sound, but how is it done, I have a n idea,you should use detuned saw tooth, single osc, with Band pass filter, and use LFO to modulate the pitch and cutoff in opposite directions but input from experienced psy producers would be very helpful.

Also what eq and effects sound best with this.

Mod env to pitch or lfo to pitch. its al about the tweaking bro..

What fx chains do people use?

In none of the tutorials do any of the psy squelches sound half as fat as the top producers, just wonder what they are doing different.

you can use all sorts of effects with this kind of sound. be it chorus, flanger, phaser, all sorts of saturation/distortion...

but the question you asked. it's really down to comparing mastered sound with a "work in progress" session, two very different things. and the video up there, look again, that's a pro right there dude XD (no pun intended)
