hey all
too many bassline threads -
anyone interested in sharing some tips/techniques for good psy lead/fx synthesis.
any artists (pro/am) willing to attempt this one ?
come on, lets get some seriously technical threads started here again.

Highpass filters, FM modulation, massive delays (3/4 of a beat or 1.5 beats with a lot of feedback) and don't forget to compress the hell out of it.
You are now ready to make agressive psytrance leads.

Try looking for presets you like and then explore the settings see how it's done

Find a synth you like, vst or hardware, and simply learn what it does. Everything it does.
After you know how the sound it routed trhough the diferent modules of the synth, and knowing what each knob does, you'll see not only it will be much more fun, but you'll get to the sounds you want much more easily...
Tips : - For those sounds constantly going Up or Downs (e.g. Gms style in brakes) use a sinth with Modulation Envelope and route it to the oscilators.
- Use Reverb wiselly, it can add soo much to the sound (but used in a wrong way will just add noise)
- For fx, experiment on tweaking the lfo's to get some crazy elastics and stuff like that. You can also do some crazy more controled elastics with the portamento/glide.
