I have heard goa gill saying about yoga and active meditation what does he mean?maybe he is trying to connect spirituality with dance and trance music, dancing psychedelic trance is one type of yoga philosophy if you feel it and have the idea in your mind meditation is posible.Sometimes I see for decoration mandallas and yantras from the hindu tradition so if you think that music, sounds works like mantra cosmic sounds that keeps the balance of the cosmic rythm and watching the center point(bidu)of a yantra while you dance and listen to music you could easy say
that is active meditation that helps for awakening of the spirit. When the mind is focused in one point with trance music hypnotising and dance using the move of energy with a personal specific way is active meditation and is different for everybody because everyone have his own vibration his own diferrent mind.Personally
I am using trance music and seating in the lotus pose, the most powerfull yoga pose for my meditation because psy-trance helps me for better concetrating with my mantra(cosmic syllabe)and cleaning my mind from uselles thoughts. The music could help me even use my imagination better and feel the infinite supreme conciousnes...
thats for now any other idea and I will write something else more for this subject...

nice to see more people actually use the trance music, as a trance state medium via meditation. I was wondering what kind of music do you use during your meditation sessions. Could you mention specific tracks, or favourites for that use ? I personally prefer downtempo tracks, and the more deep-in ritualistic styles...           Bring yourselves into the light

dear other reality I usually prefer old melodic tracks till 98 for this use from the secret of the 13 crystal skulls, pleiadians, mfg, juno reactor from the bible of dreams or atmospharic music like cosma who is dead now or hujaboy (not uplifting trance )quality trip tracks that gives me joy.I personally started with pure trance at 92 and then at 94 with goa trance when it came for first time in greece with trancemedia and sunrise so till now I have started looking for a deeper meaning of trance and not only for having fun.The psuchedelic culture started with spiritual idea from goa searching and comparing the indian shananic tradition for healing about gaia and the natural dark spirit...
Iwas happy to see at boom festival the idea that they had about mama gaia and the fractal form of energy...we realy listen to our future...as we dance the medicine wheel is moving and nature becomes more healthy...

Hey Tasos, Cybersnack is one of my favourites man! ESP the very old ones from some Return to the Source compilations ! Star sounds Orchestra ? No comments... The guys know how to do it. My personal favourites though, range from trance to electro, and from ambient to psychedelic rock. Here is a list for anyone interested, many of the are VERY VERY oldies (late 60's and 70's) : (Psy-rock) Metropolis, Poppol Vuh, Faust, Hawkwind, Gong, Camel, Ozric Tentacles, Porcupine Tree (Ambient Electro) B-12, Aphex Twin, Future Sound Of London, Cybersnack, TUU & Nick Parkin, Ott, Autechre, Eat Static... (Psy-Trance) Cosmic Tone, Paste, Juno Reactor, Phony Orphants, Vibrasphere, Highpersonic Whomen, Osczilla, Echotek, M.O.S, Altom, Ticon... only some from each category.... Go on and share your fav's !           Bring yourselves into the light

i agree with the active meditation ideia, some sounds are so introspectives.. even dancing.. meditation expands..
