Hi very nice update i have a few comments:

- How do you 'tune' it to the bass? Should i use frequencies of my tonic notes?

- How does the base frequency knob works?

- You should remove the drop shadow effect on the Psykick text since, i think it looks dirty, rest of the GUI is pretty nice tho.

thanks.

Great, I'm glad people are enjoying it!

Let me know if anyone stumbles across any bugs and I'll do my very best to fix 'em

Tuning to the bass - yes, if you wish to tune it to the bass, then find your bass fundamental freq, either using a MIDI to Hz convertor (all over the web), or, my preferred method, open a spectral analyzer like voxengo SPAN and take a peek in there, when you have block size set to 16384 . Its worth saying... doesn't always sound best tuned though, often it can sound good slightly above tuned, and often it can sound good going doooooowwwwwwwwwn quickly.

Base freq knob - and for that matter all freq and time panels outside of EQ. Left click and hold over the number in the display. Move mouse up and down - thats it.

GUI - Ugly, innit - but, quite clear. Surely there is a happy medium.

Hope this helps somewhat - any other questions just ask, and I'll do my best to provide the answers.           .

Hehe, thanks for your answers... what i actually meant was how does it work internally, what is it really doing to the kick's synthesis?

I can't make my kick sound constant, it always change's its sound, how can i solve this problem? i've tried to tweak every parameter, but it didn't help

hehehe, sorry dude, my bad

It determines where the kick sweeps to overall.

There are three envelopes that affect pitch.

Although this isn't quite accurate, the basic premise of the below explanation remains the same, and is a lot clearer then is what is actually going on! ...:

The starting pitch of the second envelope determines the finishing pitch of the first envelope when the envelope time has elapsed

The starting pitch of the third envelope determines the finishing pitch of the second envelope when the envelope time has elapsed.

The base freq determines the finishing pitch of the third envelope when the envelope runs out of time ... so if the note is still being held (assuming > 0 sustain on amp) when all three envelopes have been played a pure sine at the base freq will be produced.

Further to this, the 'shape' of each envelope adjusts dynamically according to envelope finish and end point.           .

that is very odd .awl

what sequencer are you using?

It is stable here for me in Cubase 3 and Ableton. As in totally stable.

Would be of help to me and others for your feedback.

Are you overlapping MIDI notes? All I can think of off the top of my head.          .

hey speaka,

first of all cheers for your fabulous plugin. i already enjoyed the previous versions but this one is simply top notch soundwise!
killlllaaaaargh ;-)

one comment, for me as a visually thinking person an envelope display depicting the actual settings, i.e. changing along with your tweaking would be really nice (hard to do? i don´t know, if so forget about it.. but would be decent to have for me)

do you have a paypal account? i would love to give you some material credit for your fantastic work.. and maybe some other people as well??

keep up the good work!
tim

ps. rocksolid in cubase 4 so far as well

Graph is very challenging for me, but not impossible by any stretch - and something that I would like to figure out anyway - I'll see what I can do - may take a little while though.

RE: Paypal - I don't have a paypal account, and for Psy-Kick, a big part of why I made it in the first place was a) to give back to the scene, and b) because I don't think anyone should be charging for a pitchbent sine wave.

Development time is minimal - I just plug in better and better techniques as I discover them in other projects.

I am considering the move to donationware for some of the new synths I have planned though, which represent a considerably greater chunk of my time. Not yet though.

And Psy-Kick will always be free.
