been tried.. aint gonna happen...
There is no edm scene period in SJ..
Santa Clara county is very aggressive about not letting anything outside bars and licensed venue happpen past 2am
besides San jose is part of the Bay Area. and SF scene which includes everything from Monterey to Ukiah pretty much

well...me and my buddy played some chill -minimal-proggressive at subzero festival and santana row recently...yup we brought the basss.!!! and it was pretty well taken..there's dubstep nights here...all thats needed is an indoor warehouse place and there are some ...but the cops here are penis's for sure..

I was at Subzero. Were you the renegade sound system between the two stages?
I know the cops in secondary employment due to the nature of my work - they're not penis. It is a different vibe in this county - not very progressive at all.
There are some potentially great outdoor locations but it would take a private landowner who's willing to take the risks. Other than that it's underground style - in fact there's a place near my office that goes off every few weeks or so.
Anyways, I'm focused on producing but will gladly listen to any good ideas.

@pyped's - dude, the cops suck not party-wise but ive seen some scenes first hand...blah blah..but yeah if you wanna make a scene..do let meknow..i think djing makes you a much better producer.
@penta - hehe..yeah it makes me feel awesome that penta is from san jose!!..but san jose needs a time jump!!!..whaaatt??
the best thing ive seen here recently is that mission ale house has been promoting some cool edm...dnb, deep house, tech...

I know a decent amount of people who would join in on the fun and help out with the scene if we started it up again here in SJ/LG/Saratoga/Cupertino/Campbell...I think the main problem is A) how to get the right demographic here in the South Bay and B) Locations/venues... when I was younger there was alot of warehouse parties and what not, there is a ton of places we could explore but it just takes a team and a little bit of effort! |
