Its interesting because fidelity is a term used to describe the level of accuracy in reproducing sound/space from a real life experience. Now, psy trance never actually happens anywhere except in the producer's studio and thus the most accurate reproduction of all these synthesized and modified sounds is really up for a wide spectrum of interpretation.

Nevertheless, the space, color, and detail of the sound definitely shows through in hi-fi systems.

Hi-fi systems are not just speakers. They are 192khz cd players, cables, pre amplifiers, amplifiers, and speakers of course. After spending at least 15,000USD for a 300-400 watt system, the acoustics of the room is also key!!!

Check out this link for some examples of the finest HIFI available in the world.

Softsynths, will allways sound like softsynths. There's no media in the world to make it sound more than what they are allready on a CD.

Acoustic instruments - that's something to record and reproduce. Only that pops in my mind when talking about fidelity-shmidelity.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Of course they sound good on cd's the crux of this topic lies on reproducing what the artist heard in his studio onto the listener's environment... This is the tricky part...

Either way, I think it is quite clear that there are no places like this... Would be nice to have one though..

Peace!

Actually, there will be a party (outdoors) in Canada in a couple of days that will be using a high fidelity system (shameful self-promotion).           Load Universe into Cannon. Aim at Brain. Fire.

Actually CDS play at 44khz and 16 bit stereo ...... Many artists connect their laptop to the soundcard and playback at much more quality than cds...... like 96khz 24bit or so.... so for example if u know all the tracks of Logic Bomb and then u hear them live on PA , through their soundcard then u hear the big diference not to mention synths like the nordlead connected live to the console also

it makes ANY DJ sound like a little girl with cds

I doubt anyone plays 96khz at a live. 96khz sort of double the cpu load. I wouldn't do that.
24bit doesn't change the quality of the sound you hear (well it does, you just can't notice it) - only the processing quality.
