Hi I have moved from south Africa to Scotland only to find that the psytrance scen is verry small, witch is making things verry hard for me to get a foot in the door, i work in a main stream night club and in the 4 years that i have worked there not one piece of music did i like, so i was woundering if any one could point me in the direction of getting on my way to Djing at parties and so foth

hey cryolab. Mate I have a very similar problem and I am from Scotland! Ive lived in London and france the last 9years so on returning to Scotland I had very little clue as to the scene back home..

been home a year now and recently got invited to an outdoor...was excited...turned out to be drum and bass the whole night..I even brought my cd's hoping to play some prog trance, but they wernt up for it.

I know a few years back there were some parties going on in Edinburgh, but dont think thats going on now, and ive heard there is one going on in Dunfermline, though havn;t tried yet.

I am the same I cant get into the music on offer at the clubs and I even got a set at a local nightclub but only 2 people turned up!!aaaaaaa!!

Im sure there are some going on, I havn't been able to search too much as I have my kid here.

So in the end I am returning to London, if you fancy that I have a lot of connections down there, where i'm sure you'll have no problem...anything else I can help you with give me a bell ok!

hey psyschool
yeah i went to an out door party hosted by planet monky and i did the same i took my cd's with me but low and behold i left just befor the drum and bass started, i was standing by the car having a smoke and i herd the all too well known of the bass so that was my cue to leave,, it would be rather dificalt for me to move down to London as im studying up here so thats a bit shit I was thinking about getting a small group of psy dj's together that stay in scotland and maby try setting up a venue where maby like one or twice a month there is a full on psy nights, its just rather hard to do it by my self, and maby on the the upper end of the it will get more exsposer to psy trance and maby get a slightly larger scene going, but all u can do is hope i might just be kicking at a dead horse.... london sounds like a good place to start off a djing carrer but we will have to see but yeah hit me back if u have any sujestions
