Why do soo many of you guys talk about careers related to drugs??? Is this all the good you find in psy-trance??? :-(
I mean come on boys, I really hope that there is more in this than just fuckin drugs consumption and dealing!!!
There is a new world order behind that mouvment, and you want to spoil it just the way Hippies spoiled theirs... with just seeing the drug part...
Sorry, but for me any career in Psy-trance is good, as long as one can be proud of what he is doing (this means I exclude from that all drugstars)...

Hello Slim, I see your reply like an Utopia topic.... When I go to partys, I see every time more and more druggy youngs and not the futur new world order ...
It is a shame, because a movement born in the middle of music and the originality and personality and selfconsciousness now it's not anymore very original, not anymore very selfconsciousness oriented and what I see more and more is people going to partys doing drugs to pass a weekend without our society like a pain in the ass...
Hopefully not everybody act like that, hopefully there are still free thinkers and free spirits, but in the commercialization and banalization of this movement I often see more the bad side ...
History will tell
Anyway related to the topic, is really stupid by my point of view of speaking about careers in our ambient....
There are just few artist who lives with their music, few artists who lives with their Deco Art and they efford to do that, because of their creation and not because they think about a career in psy movement...
Think before of what you can offer to the world before thinking on how much money you can earn with...

Ok...yeah I agree with you..but my situation is that I can't really afford (not on my own) now, or anytime soon to do something like deco for trance, but I'd love to be able to have a job later on, to pay off my bills and such, but that my job has something to do with trance... |

Quite an interesting thread in some ways - how many people actually make a reasonable living out of the scene? A lot less than you think is probably the answer. Most lables are more a labour of love than a money making enterprise, and most acts & DJs have to be, at best semi-professional. Party organisers may make a decent amount - but can also loose a hell of a lot if it all goes wrong - which often happens... Afew decor teams *may* scape a living out of it - but its more cos they love the lifestyle...
Much as I'm saddened to say it - the dr*g delaers probably have the steadiest income from the scene (though you can go to jail for it - which you cannot for making rubbish tunes - well not just yet anyway...).
So all in all - its something people do for the love - and I woudlnt recomend it as a steady a career path!
