im into psy breaks
im trying to combine rolling bassline with nu skool breakbeat drums
so plese help me how to mix and match kick and bass ?
i mean EQ and compression.
do i have to roll of KICK drum frequencies from bass and how to compress them? both together on 1 bus, or separately? and which settings?
and do i have to layer snare drums? and how to eq them?

shouldn't we just produce your tunes?
stating exact frequencies is "nonce sence", sounds are different. train your ears, it will sound rubbish but the more errors you make, the better you get.
kick and bass: try to have the same pitch, so the tail of the kick blends in with the bass. that's just a guideline, it doesn't have to be the same pitch, but most of the time it sounds better.
use velocity - instead of kbbb you can try kbBb and so on...
try to layer in a sub bass (=sine) to your saw bassline.
you don't want jumping transients all over the place (probably) so compress your bass. when both kick and bass mix together well, you can apply compression to both... but it's not a must. somehow a compressor on two so completely different sounds (bass/kick) just doesn't make much sense to me. but it can sound good
I'm all for layering!!! I mean take the properties of that low snare sound and mix in the quality of a snappy higher snare sound and you might get an UBERSNARE ! ! ! [LOL]
now to eq, you want to get rid of that boxy sound of the kickdrum, if it sounds boxy (around 250hz?)... roll off everything below 30-32 hz and you might wanna apply a lowpass, but don't get rid of the zip in the kick ^^ you want that for the ipod/laptopspeaker crowd
oh, gotta get the train. remember one thing... if it sounds good, it's good

as i see that its the best technical forum over there, i was on ableton forum, but its not considered to be trance oriented:)
btw at which frequencies should kick drum in breaks work ? at around 80 HZ ? and snare - 180 - 210 HZ?

You're going to hate this - but there is no "should".
If it sounds good, it's ok.
Fortunately, trance today is a bit more liberal than it was a few years ago, where everything had to sound in a certain way or it would be labeled as "bad sound".
