whats up everyone, not much of a visual artist myself, but i'm attempting to make some UV psyparty art.
how do you do yours? just a projector? freehand?
what material do you normally use? what paints?
how do you water proof it?
you know..... general noob questions for something.... |

There are many ways of doing deco, these are the moste common ones:
-VJ'ing
-Stringdeco
-Backdrops
-Lycra

For VJ'ing you need a white wall or sheet + a projector and a laptop with software (professional software or you can use visuals in Winamp if you have a low budget)

For making backdrops you need to get UV paint and some black fabrics (fabrics is very cheap at IKEA). Then use you imagination and paint something psychedelic  If you want it to glow very strong I suggest you prime it with white acrylic paint, just get the cheapest one.

Lycra is also easy to make, just find a shop that sels fabrics and ask for lycra, remember to get those that has very bright colours. If you are not sure that it will glow, ask for a sample and bring it to someone that has a blacklight. All you need to create nice looking lycra is to cut holes with a scissor. Then stretch is out at the venue.
