i think silici0- what our friend here is talking about is the power of kundalini...
Allow me to explain:
Tantra draws upon the power of a natural energy the Yogis call 'Kundalini' which is nothing more or less than the 'electricity' you feel when you're aroused...hence TANTRA is a bunch of rituals developed for enjoying sex (for crazy lengths of time - sting style!!!)
Applying TANTRA to PSYCHEDELIC is, i suppose, quite possible, in that, you can harness the natural energy of the Kundalini (imagine it as a golden energy pouring along your spine to your mind) whilst in trance. Can be quite purifying actually if done right and channeled correctly.
Be careful you dont overdoo it - you could involuntarily orgasm when THE drop comes...this wouldnt be psychedelic.

epsilon kundalini is much more than just feeling electricity when u aroused. like u said it is an energy (very powerfull) that sits in the bottom of the back which can get up along the spinal cord all the way to the head and when it happens this is the blissfull moment of enlightment. but it will not get there even if u do sex all day, for this u have to meditate all day for years.
tantra is not made for enjoying sex. the only connection to sex is that they say u can get higher spiritually through sex. but this is actually supposed to be a very small part.

hey hey blue elf - hows it hangin? thank you for enlightening me my friend with my answer i was applying it to the question at hand - which was about psy & tantra (sorry if i flew off topic) however one doesnt have "to meditate all day for years", to benefit from tantra my friend...there are many ways to unlock your kundalini - the 'RULE OF ONE HOUR' is for example a way developed by the masters who in turn developed tantra. they understood that students may not continue long enough to master it and may settle for instant stimulation 
however dude - you're quite right in saying this is a very small part of tantra (but ive got a one track mind)
to answer the question by silici0 :
tantra is the amalgam of two vedic words i think - 'tattva' and 'mantra' a tattva is cosmic stuff n philosophies and mantra is based on magic sound and mystic vibrations so tanta is the application of cosmic sciences with a view to attain spiritual ascendancy.

of course, to unlock it and benefit from it u don't necessary need that, i only talked about bring the kundalini up to your head (and do it safely). anyway that's what i've learned, never tried that myself
what is the rule of one hour?

again - its just a state of mind...but we're still figuring this out

DJ PACIFIC; there was an article i think was in shangri-la-la (x-cellent UK MAG) which was written in an attempt to explain peoples connection with trance, going into depths of how sounds overlaid can make you feel many different emotions and connect the listener higher. (i think) they covered other stuff you know; is it a drugs thing, is it a cultural thing, is it a phase, is it a (hush tones) spiritual thing??

i think there are two things going on here..
relation between lsd and kundalini...
and kundalini and trance
and all three mixed up...
there has been lots of studies done on lsd and kundalini and how they are similar experiences... lsd triggers kundalini arousals at times
to me i guess our music has so many different frequencies banging away into our bodies that because of such a lot of power, emotions and viberations hitting you across the range, maybe your energy gets shaken up and you can dance and release a lot of blocks.. this lets your kundalini to free flow ... also in a party a lot of times your ego gets beaten up and destroyed and you can connect easier with the energy that makes you and flows everywhere.. love light sound music viberations feelings
maybe you can feel the music flow through you and sometimes you can hold the power inside your body as opposed to letting it all out and dancing it off.. i dont know if that classifies as tantra

Faaaantastic! Nice work here Udit! This is what i meant to write earlier, but the words failed me!!
very valid point about the mix-up n'all - dancing to high-frequency psychoactive trance is great  but with the addition of LSD (probably the best, most lovely, psychoactive in the world) these experiences could become a little fuddled - again its a state of mind...
But, its class that people are getting different things outta psy-trance - i dont really care when im dancing next to a Hare Krishna (like i did @ samothraki) as long as its all positive vibes man...
