Was just inspired by your video on combining / cross-fading drum audio to get the transients of one drum and the tail of another and came up with a little trick. I sampled a root note from my bass and used your technique to add the tail end of the bass note to my kick drum with a longish crossfade. Really helps weld the kick and bass together. Cheers again |

really glad they inspired you to think outside the box and to exepriment yourself
I tried the combining the kick and bass too but I combined the transient of the bass with the tail of the kick, didnt sound all that great

^same i couldnt get either to work very well in an attempt a few mins ago.
i combined the kick-then-bass and it completely killed the bottom end of the kick, so i added some of the original kick to fatten it. dont think im getting what voidstars getting anyway |

Yeh after listening again with fresh ears this morning I have to agree. Adding the bass tail seems to help the rolling feeling but it looses a lot of punch. I'm probably just trying to make up for not having the best bass and kick combo. Still, was an interesting experiment anyway. |
