i can't listen the mp3 at the moment (at work).

But regarding that deleted file... did you know that you can recover deleted files almost 100% if you do that right after deletion? Especially if you have the undelete software already installed so that you minimize the possibility of overridden files.

I've recovered few accidently deleted files and directories that way.

So, there is actually still hope if the file recently deleted. Just avoid using that particular harddrive the files was in (every disk write increases the change of override). Install the undelete program one of the other disks and do the scanning. If you're lucky, you'll get your work back.

Most of the undelete programs are commercial... ACTIVE@Undelete is one, Stellar Phoenix NTFS/FAT is other. Assuming you work on winxp. Try googling around if you can find free undelete software.

It's actually good idea to have such program installed in case anything happens. Periodical backups don't help if you created the file 5 min ago...

Good luck!

hey texmex,

that great advice thanks, unfortunately I dont think it will work as.. I will explain what I done...

Upon finishing the track I wanted to start a new track but use the old one as a template (save time setting up compressors etc), so i manually deleted all of the parts with the intention of saving the track under a different name.. Then I was distracted by my girlfriend (U know how it is), returned to my desk l8r, continued working on my new track, and periodicly, "ctrl s" ... when i went back to my old track l8r I realised my stupidity.. thankfully the new one is a higher evolution.. I took it as a lesson...
