Where is the good trance in San Francisco? Weeklies? Monthlies? I know about the Geomagnetic folks and they kick ass... Is there any one else or mostly individual shows? |

every wednesday at Il Pirata (16th st & utah)... longest running psy trance weekly in the states
no monthly events, but numerous one off by some crews
Geomagnetic of course, but also keep a eye out for Tantra events and Straylight / D.E.A. events...

I have not heard about a mojave party in a while.
I think the last one I heard of was the Kali event...

there are some dark events, but they are mostly down in the Mojave.
(Here it comes, i wonder what kinda flame war this is going to start)
Honestly from about 04-07 SF was about 80 % dark psy.(which given the amount of talent in that genre here, is understandable)
but the scene after being hit over the head by it so much, for such a period of time, more or less got sick of it.
The pendulum swung the other way, as is constantly happening in dance music, and full on along with a growing progressive fan base is the norm for today.
Tho, you can still find plenty of dark psy about, from Gil to the Mojave events, but most larger events today cater to a mix of stuff or lean towards the lighter side of the spectrum

are you guys saying if a well-balanced party with a good amount of dark as well, gets thrown, everyone will show? Ive seen a major split between the crowds here in the bay area, except for a few regulars like myself that support all scenes.....we wanna have everyone's support for our first event in a few months so we like to figure out the right formula to keep everyone happy
