Hi everybody,
I like using Protools in Mac, and since I moved to Windows ( for its plenty mine of VSTis)
I found that Protools doesn't work with other Soundcards except for Digidesign Soundcards:(
I use cubase, but I like protools much more, Is there is specified Version of Pro Tools for Windows working with any other sound card (as Mackie Spike-no digidesign soundcards )?
Thankyou
Peace.

hi,
there is now a m-powered version of pro-tools that work with nearly all of the m-audio soundcards, which offers a nice cheap alternative, it is however limited in a few areas, like track count(32 i think)and i forget whatelse.

Protools M powered is almost exactly as Protools LE except a few differences:

Of course, the full Protools HD is not like the LE version.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

I think there was a LE demo version released that worked without hardware, but it only runs on win98! Otherwise unfortunatly you need to buy some kind of interface(mbox, m-audio etc, i thought this was the case on mac too!

The only ProTools version (on both Mac and PC) that works with anything else than Digidesign or M-audio cards is ProTools Free which is totaly outdated.

Anyway, for composing music, there are much better choices than ProTools. See the "best sequencer" thread.
