Go to super-pharm, they sell those cheap silicon ear plugs.
Works perfect. I never had a ringing in my ear after a party when using them.
No point IMO to get all those 100€ plugs.

actualy mike there is much more proffesional then those , tho this are exellent if your ears are naked
King George St. Telaviv , behind the "burekas shel ima" there is a place that does it custom to your ear about 300 shekelz and its worth it, reducing more then th generic ones and also specialy on freqs that damage the ear
its also good place to get hearing check
last time i use not so good one's , the one's from the army , my brother friend just got me a hole stock

I use ER-15 Custom fitted earplugs by Etymotic research. Can't recommend them more!
Oh and to the person who said they don't need earplugs when they are listening to Good Sound Systems that is not true.
If a good system is well balanced it just means that your hearing loss is going to be well balanced afterwards
If you want to work in the audio industry longer than 5 years get custom fitted flat response earplugs now! |

i ve bought Etymotic s research earplug.
really good in bass and middle freqs but they lack at 3kz+
witch is probably good because i feel it as a very sensitive range.
Using it once in a fest i think its the best way to give ur ears a rest like fading down the music.
The way it looks is really cool (flashing blue in blacklights
Btw it might be uncomfortable at start because it has to b plugged really deep

Sorry man but I have to mention the fact that I know people who have worked in the "audio industry" for over 30 years and don't/have not used earplugs and they don't have any issues with their hearing....I'm not saying don't invest in them, just that everyone will have different life experiences. If your an engineer for a club or sound system or do live sound then I would agree that is the most common sense approach. But a producer or clubber/party goer doesn't necessarily need some.

Why wait 30 years to find out?
Protecting your ears is important regardless of your career or interest in music.
I think the compromise is to buy some crap £5 plugs and carry them about in your wallet and use them if you encounter loud environments. |

I have inear headphones for my mp3 player (Sennheiser CX300) and they also function as ear plugs. Sort of. Anyway, whenever I'm in loud enviroments sometimes I just put them on without listening to music.
This way you won't look like a retard when standing in the train station or any public place.

Meh, I think in Britain it's hard to look like a retard in a public place, too many other people steal your thunder.
I regularly stick enormous neon traffic cone sized ear plugs in and it makes a pleasant change to the standard conversation on the streets.
/cynical
Whether in the audio industry, a producer or just general public.. these days I think its really handy to have a pair of plugs all the time.
I did a short course in London and the hour and half a day I spent travelling was insanely loud. Hydralic drills, lorries, over and underground trains, planes, sirens, traffic, crowds.. the ambient level of a city is ridiculous and I'm of the opinion, if it isn't invited.. block it out. I can use the bit of hearing saved later in my life! It's only downhill from here, why waste it.. |

Any suggestions to remedy situations such as when a DJ has bad monitoring conditions [console too close to main speakers] and not being able to get enough isolation without cranking up the headphone volume to dangerously high levels.
Are there any plugs that can be worn with headphones? "Never argue with an idiot, they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience" |
