How can anyone demand artists performances to be live (as much as possible that is) when the organizers refuse to pay what it cost?
Only a handful of artists get a fair price and some get way too much draining the pockets of the organizer leaving the remaining performances with too low payments.
The day the organizers and audience realize that live performances cost money. The day you'll see more close to real performances. Until then you get what you buy. Artist pressing buttons on labtops.

I had the rare priviledge of VJing alongside EatStatic just before Joie quit, and left Merv as the only member.
Overall all the ten or so years i've had playing alongside some of the various biggest names in the psytrance scene, the sheer enthusiasm and energy that they both poured into their performance was inspiring. I also got to witness Merv coming off stage, dripping with sweat, and utterly exhausted, looking like "death warmed up"... As the crowd roared and cheered for an encore, it was like an invisible spirit seemed to revive him, and giving him another wave of energy, as him and Joie looked at each other, and went back on stage to play out a few extra tracks to the delight of the crowd.
Much kudos...

I had the luck to play right after their very last performance played together, here in Budapest. Even during their soundcheck I felt it was going to be something very special.. and the performance.. oh my god..
exactly what you said: sweat, energy, enthusiasm.. power! one of the unforgettable moments of my life for sure. a real live act.

If I want to see a live band, I will go and see a live band...
If I want to see a trance live-act I can't, because nowadays almost nobody has the balls to do it... Got it?

Pay the price it cost to hire artists who actually do their best to play live (with its limits) instead of bitching
Convince the organizers and the audience to pay the full price for live performances instead of asking artist to play for peanuts and even free.

If only it was a money problem... Push-the-play Live-acts are very well paid for almost nothing besides bringing people to the party. But organizers book them, and people like to pay to see them dance

It's indeed a money problem. Ask 9/10 organizers if they are willing to pay what it cost to bring an artist who bring equipment, musicians etc. They will scream and run away.
And then there's the big festivals who gladly pay Euro 500.000 for shpongle (way over the top payment) and then ask everybody else to play for peanuts.
So yes it's indeed also a issue with organizers not wanting to pay what live performances naturally have to cost. Except for the ones paying over the top prizes for a few "mega stars" and then underpaying everybody else.

yes. but
There are organizers who pay very well for well known push-the-play live-acts.
This money would be suficient to pay well to a guy or pair of guys who, besides being less known, worked enough to present their work live (live mixing, playing, whatever).
Even for a live band that would be good money, if they weren't too greedy.
Of course the not-so-live liveacts should receive less money than they do nowadays, even if they are very well known. If they wanted more, they should work harder and give more.
A live event is not a CD. A great producer deserves good money for it's music, but to deserve good money for a show you must be a great performer sldo (not dancer ) IMO
