When they released Reason or rebirth they were ahead of their time, but now I think they have fallen quite back... Out of curiosity I'm going to sign up for beta testing and I'll get back to you..

Looks like it integrates with Reason which is a huge step up for Reason users, but really nothing special for the rest of us.

presonus daw looks way more interesting to me!
this looks aimed more at bands wanna record they music..
i dont want an app for 10 sounds i want an app to handle 100 sounds and huge arrangements easily!
and that mixer looks like shit!!
whats with the deal with propelerheads trying to make they apps look like hardware??
its 2009 make something that works great in computers and big screens and lots of space for new stuff instead looking like an ssl mixer!
only thing that looks nice is the timestretch but again this is more usefull for recorded music and vocal/instrument treatment than electronic music composition.

Says right on their website:
Record was designed for musicians - not audio engineers

could have alot to do with paperwork and license with SSL and Line6, did you see the guitar and bass-app skins, comes straight from their rackmodels.

Record seems too "in the box" .... they'd better keep the price way down cos bands would have to spend chunks of their cash on hardware and gear!! - quite frankly not worth all the hypothetical hysteria!!
But I still feel that Reason (v3 and above) is a very good platform to learn the basics and work towards advanced sound synthesis. I think of it as one of the most versatile rewire enabled Vsts around!! Better way to spend your cash - even if ur a musician and not and audio engineer!
Presonus Studio One seems much much more interesting!!

The disconnect between the hype they tried to create in that video and the actual product is astonishing. Why didn't they provide any examples of whatever they seemed to think was more exciting than the second coming of Christ? |
