Propane generators (rather than gas)?

I hear propane is a lot cheaper, better for the environment, and most of it just gets burned off as waste because it's in such low demand 
They even make dual fuel (LPG and gasoline) generators! |

Before Ford invented the car Gasoline was also "waste" it was poured into the rivers for years. Karoscene used to be all we wanted from oil.
Still just extends the use of unrenewable resorces.
We need a couple exorcise bikes with alternators hooked up to some batteries then we all take turnes riding the bikes to keep up the batteries... We just need to tone down the huge sound systems a bit and have more an a few bikes set up. Human powered sound system baby!

Human powered could be awesome.. but you would have to tone the "big sound systems" down by more than just a bit. You don't realize what an amazing amount of power is represented by 5 gallons of gasoline until you try to do without it...
Two friends of mine have just built a 12V powered system that rides on a trailer pulled by two bikes. They're parading it in the dance parade coming up...
Very cool stuff.
And they are looking into the human powered possibilities exactly the way you are suggesting. And it's possible. But it's not that loud at all. More of a nice day chillin in the park kinda system than a real dance party.

Someone threw a solar-powered rap concert near san francisco. The main problem with solar power for us would be nighttime though... think the batteries to store power all night would be too expensive. |
