'lo folks, just wondering.
Lots of mainstream trance labels seem to be using iPool for promos thesedays. Just wondering what the psy and progpsy world is using. Done some searches out of interest (lord knows I wouldnt be able to get on any of the lists I'm just interested!! ), but I couldnt find any information anywhere about them.
Like how do labels like Iboga or them promo their material? CD mailout or iPool?
Do any progpsy / psy labels use iPool yet?

Sorry, but what exactly is "iPoll"?
Good labels should definitely mail the CDs to me. 
If they send an "iPod" it would be even better.

iPool is just a promotion system a lot of them are using, where put simply, you download 320kbs Mp3 files off a special server as your promos. Cheaper than mailing CDs etc, but not as satisfying |

As a DJ and a reviewer, if a label is uninterested in sending out the actual CD for review, I probably wouldn't pay any attention. I put about 8+ hours into every full-length CD review I do... that is easily worth the cost of an actual CD sent in the mail, I figure. Not only that, but I am not about to play out MP3s...

Well I find it very useful. Instead of w8ting for album from abroad in the mail I just download them on the spot from the ipool. sure its better to get cds but this way is fine 2 once in a while.

yes we have a promotion pool at the iboga website...I think the system is nice, the mp3s are of good quality, still it would be nicer to have wavs but I'm sure they will come soon...
for me this system is a lot easier because the laws here forbid me as an individual to receieve promotional material from a company...so basically I would have to pay tax for any bigger amount of CDs the label sends me...this way I can just download it and say "fuck the system!"
