1) have hot girlfriend
2) take pictures of said girlfriend
3) make tracks, release under said girlfriend's name

Do it like Koozer Mox, come into this forum, make a lot of noise, make good sound, get signed, compile VA's, release some stuff, in short, go on peoples nerves until they say ok...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

^ pretend to be wesley snipes?

I thought that was pretty humorous, not sure what other people would do, might be lame. Plus, the part about making good music is very key.          http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

+1000 - Content is key!

Also remember that less is more, don't ramble on, get to the point. We live in the age of media consumption, one click and they are gone.

I want to share very useful information; I am a photographer i make a portfolio of my photos with the help of foliofox for seen by a growing and influential international audience. That is a great experience. http://www.foliofox.com/ is more than a portfolio website, it is a portfolio website with a built-in audience. Foliofox is powerful enough to be your primary online presence and a formidable tool for driving traffic to your own site with 1000’s of visitors a day. Some of its feature:

Features include up to five searchable galleries
A 500 images storage library.
Choose your representative thumbnail image.
Upload multiple images.
Contracts are for one year and cost £175.

the best promotion could be to make a killer track ,it might help a bit .
i think promotion is a bit usless in non maistream music , it s seems to me it s more about friends network in psytrance , might depends the place of the globe though

spamming the crap out of forums is a good starting point.
you do it like this...

On a more serious note, releasing the music for free has helped us. it took 2 albums to start travelling, but at least it did the trick.

+ it feels good to give the music out for free.

I think that investing too much money in website design is pointless. Hosting and domain is enough, you don't need someone pro to design it. It's not going to get much hits anyway. The trick is to get a page up on facebook and myspace and keep it constantly updated. Don't bother setting up twitter.

For example, I got this: http://cronomi.com for my label. It gets less hits than out facebook page. Looks good though, and cost me 0$ to design it, since it's based on Wordpress.
