Answer to Drope

Well I dont make the music u like to hear ( my last track with 150 bpm I made before 6 years ) but you will be surprised I do get your point tho u r wrong about something which I gonna point out:

First u r right about the fact that if u would like to hear Techno sound or House sound u wouldn't drive for hours and pay good money for Trance party. True and fair enough..

Having said that - Today is a little different from ole and happy days of Goa 10 years ago when no one knew nothing and everything was new. Today u have flyers, internet and everything to make u know WHO is going to spin in the party u r going to.. SO if u know BLT is playing at the party then u should know u gonna hear music that is different to your ears and probably a little slower. So it is up to u to decide and then u might stay at home and listen to some progressive music to chill out

One more thing is to the organizers who should know their crowd and also know to build the line up correctly since there is place for everyone

PS Danny Intelabeam I know and I am so sorry to miss this end of Solaris so many ppl been talkin about... Hope Du will take it under consideration and there will be a session like this in the middle of the festival and not in the end.. Well actually I managed to miss James Monroe as well and it was while I was there.. damn          A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

Donīt be mistaken Yuli... I dig and understand ur music. Thatīs not the point...

While I respect any taste I just think Psytrance is being under attack from inside...

I really donīt like housy tunes... But thatīs me, u know.

Things are different, but why shouldnīt they be?

Anyhow, love all u freaks...

And more Yuli... I wouldnīt stay home cause BLT is playing, or even some more proggy stuff... I try very hard to take the plur concept to every aspect of my everyday life. I just get a little upset when I hear trance is dead or plur is dead... Well, if there r styles that sells better, and if most pp doesnīt even know what plur is anymore... I DONīT CARE. Artists who will migrate to other genres to make more money are building their own tragetory and thatīs up to them. PLUR is a concept and itīs only dead to those who leted then dye in their hearts... acttually Yuli, I believe uīr not one of those...

I shouldnīt hv written in this thread at first place...

We donīt try and bring the housy boooooooorrrrrrrrreeeeeeeedddddooooooommm to psy partys and push it down everybodys throat... it`s just a question of time. Because psytrance came from the boredom housemusic and without the beats and loops, the basses and grooves your 150 bpm psytrance wouldn`t be there.

So Mr. Drope - respect to all and as I said don`t forget the roots cause some day you will discover slower and more intellegent music.

keep on banging!!!

i just read the whole thread
some ppl here wrote exactly what i think..

but about progressive trance isn't psychedelic i do not agree...

lots of melodies and too much things going around in the track at the same time isn't psychedelic to me....

when i hear monotonic sounds that are playing nonstop, this is the pure psychedelic to me..
maybe when ppl will understand that then you'll see that progressive is very psychedelic.

about the housey tracks:
its fun sometimes but its too much..

about the 303 that yuli mentioned...
well i think this 303 sounds is dead.
people do better psychedelic noises without it..
and not everything that uses the 303 sounds is psychedelic..           http://www.o-zen.com/art/ranal

OK, this is getting to be one of those old vs. new conversations.

This is not where this started.

Ravergirl started off with saying that looking for a PROGRESSIVE NIGHT ACT nowadays is beyond hard. I continued by saying that nowadays there are barely any scratchy dark devious progressive acts, while there are sooo many soft fluffy groovy WANKERS making music that no DJ should play at night.

And all of the people that are saying both 'house is boring and should be out of psytrance parties' and at the same time 'music today is what you should be listening to', well, I DO LISTEN TO TODAYS MUSIC, AND THE HOUSE INVASION HAS NOT ONLY BEGUN, IT'S ALREADY AT IT'S PEAK, or at least very close to it. I'm sorry, I like twisted psychotic music, something that'll make me say 'umm, weird' not just make me jump to the groove.

And btw, psytrance had more techno (and acid) roots than house roots. Listen to old SFX stuff (or old Har-El or Sven Vath)... Nothing to do with house (well, at least not much).

I have a lot of respect to some of the fluffy progressive artists, because they do their thing, and they do it very well. They have a point to their music, I'm just afraid that even if I get their point, it's not what I'm looking for. I'd rather listen to Rino Cerrone for a hard stomp session than to Ticon, I'd rather listen to John Starlight for high energy levels rather than to Bitmonx. The reason I listen to psytrance and not techno is because psytrance offers something different. The moment I hear people pushing more and more towards the techno and house scenes, the less I find what I was looking for in psytrance in the first place.

And no, I don't think full-on is the answer I'm looking for.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

I just mean before techno there was house.

Acts like Marshall Jefferson or Frankie Knugkles put the first loops together and created this new club music. Later we got Acid House and from this it became Techno - Trance and all the kind we are listen now.

Thats why I wrote house is the root of psytance.

and before house was disco, and before disco was funky and before funky was rock n roll and jazz and treditional music, blues, gospel, and clasic music, and..... im hopin in some day i will be dancin up that hill far at north of lebanon (with no problem), eatin cherry's and caring about nothin in life and some kids with darbuka will play by the place, and small water spring will flow near and d-nox will play us new releases and we will be very happy until the dawn will come... and then when dawn will come he will be playin very nice house tunes, some clasics in the nature, and noone willl feel he done too long way to listen to this, i wish you all to feel the same as me..
i didnt felt so by going far till stade and putlitz, just been happy with this house and prog and techno and minimal elktro and all what been catchin my ear. great techno been played outdoors at the circus tent... pure party time for me, try to get a ride with me there next year.. and im shure you enjoy free of rules music same as i did

the world blinking in 130 bpm...

Well... You say what u want endup listening...

Nectarios, nothing against u, or ur musical taste, or house or tecno for that matters... I live in Rio de Janeiro, that has a yet strong House and Tecno scene while a very small and disapointing psy scene... I wonīt budge, when I go to psy parties I wanna listen to psy music, and when I say psy, I mean trance. Brazillian musical culture is very very rich and I could point u endless rock and pop groups that are quite psychedelic but u wonīt see them playing in a psy party. (Mutantes!!!)

When going out near my home I can settle for tecno or house. I wonīt do that after travelling several hundreds of kilometers... Iīm not saying I believe prog should not be played at parties, Iīm just saying Iīll not be hving THE BEST time...

I donīt like expressions as killa or Bombar (used in Brazil for dancing strongly). I did not say I just listen to 150bpm tunes, But I say it should be more of them.

House can be pointed out as root of trance, ok. But monkeys are roots to humans and you wonīt see me making love to one

Yet I think house as root of trance is an object orientated point of view. Let me explain, if you regard trance by the means there r used to make it now a days, yes, rooted out of house (???kraftwerk, as house, but ok...) BUT if u get a subject orientated point of view, and trance as music for transcendental trips and conscience expansion, then TRANCE is the mother of all music... since tribal ages...

I respect, I can leave the dancefloor after a time of prog trance, but I respect... After a time of housy trance, Iīll leave it swearing... but thats just me.

And yes, something can be around longer, some other thing may come out of that first one, conquer itīs own space, and hv that space invaded by the first one... yep yep... seems possible.

There's actually 2 guys in True To Nature. Jokke and Tom Von Rosen. Pretty big name on the danish house scene.

Great stuff if you're looking for progressive house in my opinion.          DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

btw, this thread about prog aint a must for some that dont realy into it...
its enough we got the different way people use this term to describe different type of music that confusing the conversation, so please if you still want to talk, keep the conversation on some intelectual level, please guyz and gulz stop bitchin one the other and try to "go prove your point" in private massages if its a must..

myself i think that progressive is whats up next and not any specific release, what ever not been done before is step in the progress, so i will say progressive is the term i use to define things that r not followin others work, just takin step ahead in defining somthing new, but shure its used by othes to tagg lots of other kind of things

using this term is equivalent like using "NEW" sticker on a product, if you get what i mean, today its new tommorow its "not the latest"

what ever you thought as prog today, tommorow is just trance, or breakbeat, its all depends how this new thing is making sense as a news..

hope im not gettin too philosophic here..
