Ok so I'm looking to update my progressive CD collection as Spring is here in Australia, and I often get asked to play sets at friends BBQ's, house parties and some local bars/clubs (also because I'm finding I enjoy the genre more and more as I get older compared to other psy trance).
I enjoy labels like Blue Tunes, Digital Structures, Echoes, Iboga, Iono and Tribal Vision.
I prefer CD's than digital because it's just easier to manage I find my cd's in a case and on the decks, than a USB or external hard drive.
Soooooo anybody can tell me what I should definitely be looking at buying this year?
An no need to mention Zenon, I have all their releases up to date
I also am looking for some minimal & electro stuff as well, not necessarily within this scene but on cd if people have tips?
Cheers

Do you prefer to buy cd's or if you buy digital you still burn it?

Nah, don't buy digital at all, I'm way too old school for now.
I know eventually I'll have to convert as I'm sure I am missing many good releases.
If you know some recommend them, maybe I'll convert
I think I will shortly due to the new Digital Structures releases

Check out Basilisk's blog on Ektoplazm. He publishes his recommendations (and it's not only music from his label). Monthly, if I remember right. |

This is probably what you are thinking of:

It's a bit messy and I don't update it all the time (right now it's way overdue)... but there are some good progressive CDs in the list: Motion Drive, Haldolium, and Kino Oko (for something a little different). Try the Spektre as well since it's a full album released on CD.

Check out the new Sensient.
The new Digital Structures sound has nothing to do with the old one, but since you are hunting for some good techno, check it out.
Is that the MetalHeadz logo?
Good ol' days of D'n'B. I recall watching Kemistry and Storm, before Kemistry tragically died in the car accident.

yeah a variation I found. Lovely label and enjoy the 3 mix cd's by Goldie I have, full of old dark DnB/Jungle sounds from those crazy days!
Wish DnB would go back to that style instead of the cheese coming out now!
The mix that DJ Friction did this year for MoS is a joke!
