This reminds me a lot of early progressive that was released from 98-2000, and I like this style, but it sounds mighty thin, like it is played on a sound system 100 meters away. Which is a shame, because otherwise I like it.

Like the poster above said, user lower bass notes and bring the k/b more to the front, it needs to get more presence in the mix.           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch

kk thank you for the feedback. i will try to use lower bass notes...
and what can i do, to make it sound more "there"? only eq?
...cause i have cutted the depths from a lot of sounds and noises, so it wont disturb the bassline...maybe i should let them a few depths and just lower the volume...mh mh:)

can anyone recommend a free bass vst? currently i'm using freeware from muon tau...thx

I agree, the bass needs some work. It seems like you were very concious about EQ'ing your sounds to make space for everything, but kinda went overboard.

I'd focus on getting the core down solid, the kick and bass. That way you don't have to worry about the other components while learning how to make them work well together.

IMO, drop that bassline down a octave or two, and then boost the bass on the kick/bassline. That much lower and the bassline will be a very different animal. Most likely you'll still need to EQ in more bass, depending on what VST your generating your bassline with. A good place to start is boosting a lot around 80-100hz, and then using a low cut filter below 50-55hz to get rid of any earthshattering sub. Don't be afraid to go extreme for the sakes of learning. It probably won't sound good, but its fun learning what too much sounds like, then you can ease your way back into a more reasonable balance. In regards to free bass VST's I think the VB1 is free. I'm not sure tbh. I hope this helps.
