hey freaks,

Both Progress Trance and Progress House are nice music (imo).

but, both sound the same style of electronic music, so why do some labels define one "Progress Trance" and others "Progress House"?

well, when I listen with some friends to proggy tunes at my apartment, they ask about the genre of this music, so I say it's progg something.

Iam confused.
Help.
thanks alot great people!

No think its not the same

Beginning by the BPM, prog house starts at 125 and the top bpm is 132-134

And ofr prog trance its usually between 130 and 142

Then is obviusly the genre, Trance must be hipnotic, deep, with atmospherees...

The re is a lot of crossover, but there are artist that produce music thats purely prg house or purely prog trance.

some artist

Pro trance:

Son kite
Ace ventura
tegma
jaia
ticon (except for the last album whic is part prog house)
Freq

I think Iboga records represents exactly the crossover of trance and house

And some prog house artist:
D-nox and beckers
brisker and magitman
shiloh
luke chable
dj peña

IMHO

Its really a grey area these days...

Some of the artists that Login mentioned, like Tegma who have a house side project, and Jaia, who's made more than a few house tracks (Last Call, for example, on Afterhourz), could be called house. Sometimes they make house, sometimes trance. I like that they don't limit themselves to one style.

So to me, its really up to each to decide what is house and what is trance. I've personally given up...

Cafu, for example, sometimes he's house, sometimes trance, sometimes both in the same track...

There is so incredibly much music nowadays which fit in both progressive house and progressive trance music categories. Also, since that tech, minimal and electro is also blended in, it has turned into a big unclassifiable mish-mash of music, which is good!

As long as it’s good music, I’m happy           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Progressive Trance is like slow psychedelic trance, more minimal, less punchy, nonetheless with pounding basslines.
Progressive House has dub tinted basslines and displays a melancolic atmosphere.....
I'm getting confused too, I'm giving up

i think it's fine to refer to it as progg music. doesn't matter if it's writen house or trance.coz both are very similar and confusing. but both still kick ass style!

many thanks also to all great progg artists there
