anyone now if there is progresive scene in nyc??
maby artists like:
freq
ticon
shiva chandra-mapusa mapusa
simphonix
halldolium
bitmox
fabio
utopia
?????
somthing in this area?
i seek from full on allready BORINGGGGG.
if sombody now ...say soomthing if not
maby its about time that sombody will think about it!!

There isn't a "progressive scen" per say... there is only one trance scene, often Djs will play progressive trance at the begining of a party, and then play full on later...

i cant belive it........
all over the world {like germany..amstersam..israel}the trance scene is most progresive ..only here it still stuck..

yes, definitely there's a lot more progressive being released and played at parties all over the world these days than erm.. full-on. the US is always lagging sooo behind, we're stuck deep in the boonies around here like 7 years behind the rest of the trance world.

seriously, though, it seems the scene in new york has evolved from progressive into more full-on sounds in the last 2 years. it was nothing but progressive in 2001-2002. Omnitribe still does progressive parties from time to time, though - right?

yup and lets not forget that there are some folks in nyc who produce progressive so lets wait and see

There's been progressive trance in NYC for years.. just keep you ears open and maybe you'll catch it.
Omni Tribe was devoted it.... Some of us still have hundreds of CD's and vinyls still dying to get danced too. |

for us at omnitribe it was it
few years back
but when bitmox played
or sbk and very little people show their support
its hard to do
just for the fond memories
i was changed when i went to russia in 2002
and ukraine in 2003 for long periods of time
heard different music
felt different vibe
and saw different people
lost most of enthusiasm to make parties in nyc
omnitribe sound system is in the garage
deco went traveling to burningman
generator fueling bridge parties
and we are playing all around the globe
and the same story goes for spectra
will we comeback?
omnitribe will only happen outdoors
or in some not megaclub location
otherwise its not very interesting
for people for us

Yeah yo there was a good year (a winter at least) where it seemed like it was _all_ progressive (I think that was winter 2002-3). Anyway now we're in full-on/dark mode (which is good for me). Maybe someday we will find balance and have parties for different musics on alternating weekends or something. I always said that healthy ears need a balanced diet...

like psycosmo was saying, the "heyday" for progressive trance in nyc was a couple years back, right after synthetic sadhus closed their doors and omnitribe and spectra were the only game in town.
but the big names in prog definately pull in a lot of people. i think if someone were to bring, oh say freq or ticon, a lot of people would come out of the woodwork. TDC and Alladin have both brought Son Kite in the last year, and both parties were veeeeeery well attended.
as a dj and organizer myself, i favor a varied approach with full on and progressive. i thought the gaian mind festival was able to achieve a nice balance with some big name proggy acts (antix and jaia) along side some dark (deviant species) and full on (dj edoardo) ones.

i've never been to israel before, but given everything i've heard, i find it hard to believe that the scene there is more "progressive". check around, read some cd/party reviews, full on is all the rage most places, progressive, for better or worse, often plays second fiddle.

i need to make it more clear....
progresive is the biggest scene now in:
israel:domo recored,and the 3rd empire..this is the biggest names now in israel and they all about progresive....
second is germany:we all now that this is the real trance scene in thw world...like the voov festival..and fussion and more and more...
i been thare and belive me its all about the progresive...the full on is only in the night..
so before sombody send me to chack the forum...do a chek over thare first

Obi,
They have been playing progressive in NY since 1999. Since Midium, Naja, ACDC, Spira Trax... etc etc released this type of music. They have had festivals with this type of artists. As you hear fromt he prograssive promoters.

i always thought the biggest names in israel are infected, astrix, sub6, skazi, psycho micro, etc etc etc..
or is there something i am missing here? some new underground movement? hmm..
