Programs and Vst's for producing psytrance music

Hi my name is Anton aka "Cosimc Lab" and I wont to producing psytrance/full on music. Please tell me what programs and vst is the best for this.. I have Reason 3.0, Cubase sx 3 and a midi controler.

before you expect wonders, there is no special tool for psytrance out there. trance is the way you use the sounds, not the kind of sound itself.
anyway there are some vst which are helpable to go your way indeed, but keep in mind that you can use every maschine potentially and that you may be like to use different modules as someone else.
- vanguard vsti (you will need the LFO for fullon)
- atmosphere vsti (good for textures)
- stylus rmx vsti (making grooves without much knowlegde required)
- waves bundle vst (a must for proper mixing)
- audiorealism bassline vsti (standart basses)
- trilogy vsti (people like it for basses, i do not  )
- kontakt 2 vsti sampler (could be your enlightment, could be not, also not my cup but indeed some people pray to it)
- battery 2 vsti sampler (simple and good)
- ohmboys delay vst (a very good tool, making more as just delays if you know how to use)
this is not much, but a solid base-setting.

Vanguard is pretty good, the sound is not super but it's very simple so you can make your own sounds without too much hassle.
Get Zeta, much more complex but it comes with alot of nice presets so you should be able to make use of it fast.
For bass Junglist is good, and some people like VB-1 or Muon Tau.
I recommend the ultrafunk sonitus pack for your mastering/FX purposes, I like it allot.
And with those things, and/or the things mentioned by Kitnam you can start producing psy.... oh I almost forgot, get as many drum samples as you can find. 90percent of the stuff you will find unusable so it's important to have a mountain load to choose from. Have fun
But actually you have almost all you need in Reason 3 to produce psy.

are you talking about the super secret synth, developed by goa gil and others for the USA government, wich tones could control the human mind, communicate with animals and call the alien, but long abandoned since it was considerated too dangerous and could fall in the wrong hands (rumored to be buryed in the South American Wastelands)?
Shall we tell anton the truth about it?
The machine in wich psychedelic trance was invented? roll a joint or STFU :) |
