So yesterday i listened to this track by Ekoplex, and i went to sleep with it on my mind, and one question keeps pounding my mind, how do you guys keep track of things mainly on the upper side of what i call the mushroom shape that is the music production. If you listen to this one there's lots of bits and pieces flowing around, swheeeesh swoooosh from one side to the other, from downmiddle centered rising to reaallly up freqs without stopping to hear snares and hats and percussive elements, and i get really amazed at things that seem to pop-up from the headphones right there on my ears at real low freqs but keep the KBass combo clean!! Is it all from training? trial and error? I end up thinking: I cannot do that! these guys are f**** genious!!Any thoughts on that?
sorry for the long post

That's because mixing is a pure art! The more you practice with your ears and tools the better you get!

mono bass, mono kick.. maybe a mono snare, slightly at the back.
and all the other elements are swirling around! gentle slow pan.
