Ive heard skrillex made his last album on mostrly headphones but I prefer to use my monitors when producing. I think my headphones sounds "to big" and the atmosphere in there sounds littlebit to good when compare with monitors. I use senheizer 280 pro. I can use them sometimes to find annoying sounds tho.

Wow. This thread turned out great, gonna have to digest all this info.

After trying many methods to mix k&b I think I found something I can work with.

Here is my honest attempt with Superlux HD668B, how does this sound?

I can still improve it in some places but first I need to know how much I can trust these headphones.

It would be interesting if everyone posted a kick & bass they mixed -only- with headphones, and what cans you are using.

That would be a great thing to see who knows their headphones well

Anyone heard of V-moda Crossfade LP 2? I used these once for a DJ set & they kicked ass! Awesome low-end! Lots of famous DJ's are using them nowadays so i was wondering how suitable they would be for production.

it's fine, it's just adapting, like anything else. always good to check everything you do on as many reference systems as you can, high end and low end, if possible.

skrillex rented my friend's studio out for a week last year, and spent the entire time sitting at a table at his laptop with his cans on!           http://hermetechmastering.com : http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gregg+Janman : http://soundcloud.com/babaluma
