hi fellows, sometimes i got ask by some members about music production and i found out the i dont produce only with "technics", but more with "concepts". concepts have the advance that you can interpretate them and use them on different problems. behind a technic is a concept... now i want to share concepts with you, sometimes a sentence can say more as 1000 words, welcome to join your concepts here too.
heres my drop:
- always finish what you have begun
- 4 minutes is the magical line for a theme-change
- too many breaks break the flow
- trust yourself, listen inside of you
- never give up
- always focus on what you want to do
- the bassline is the fundament of your track
- dynamicprocessing is the key formaster the mixes.
- join forces with your friends if you are not experienced
- a musician needs to know how to make music but he also needs to know how he sells it.
- a drum never comes alone
- less is more // old rule
- fast and aggressive is stress, slow and aggressive is massive // arne schaffhausen

here`s some of my tips:
* work hard
* create your own sounds & presets, save all the presets you use in library. its good to master a few synth and work with them only (almost)
* compare your resaults with commercial CDs
* progress is crucial! try to find out your mistakes and fix it on your next track
* knowledge can fix your mind about stuff you dont understand well. read articles of masters (not just trance but production in general)
* try to create schemes of work to work professionaly and to be in control
* every thing in your project should be heard!
* believe in yourself |

nice 1 ill give some too
1-always listen your mixes in many different systems
2-iff something doesnt fit in the first place usualy doesnt fit at all
3-iff your mother likes it propably all people would like it
4-never forget to promote your self if you dont start nobody will
5-listen to many opinions but try to filter the good ones(when a fulloner sais your progressive track is too slow...you get the pic)

I have one:
Don't be sad and depressed, happy brings music.

I have one: Do the efx-test: see if every efx has its goal & makes a difference in the mix. Another one: do the car test. It should sound as good (as possible) as releases, even in crappy car audio systems. |

Great tips here!
i will add one..
Dont be afraid to delete! if you feel that something is wrong.
Try and fix it, if you cant find the problem delete and work on the track without that piece.
this somehow has something to do with what you said Boobytrip
"- always focus on the vibe/feeling you want to bring accross: this limits your options"
This should be a sticky thread! |

my biggest thing..... NEVER delete old material. even if you think its total shit.... store it on disc somewhere, when your bored or in a slump check out old unfinished stuff! you may suprise yourself |
