you just finished school (i assume), so i would suggest you take either sound production classes, or join an "odio", or idealy both! it depends on time and money you can afford.
if you cant afford either, you should start experimenting with any software or physical organ you may get your handz on.
even a tiny slice of knowledge can set a path to walk on..
in any case if you love it do it!           -----------------------------------------
it's ON !!

ears are very important for sure....
knowledge of technology is very important .
Music knowledge in my opinion make the difference....
although production and quality sound is the most hard task...and you have to spend some money for that...
my advice is to begin with a very good soundcard and quality monitors...

Sound engineering and/or Music technology in some I.E.K. Now there are public schools of such kind in Greece, with low fee (compared to the private ones). Get a PC, get some easy to begin with software (Reason or Fruity Loops) buy yourself a midi keyboard and start toying around. This kind of software is being taught in the schools mentioned above as well.
If you are interested in schools, check out the ones in Kerkyra and Crete. If you cannot afford to go there, you oprion is to pay a well known IEK, for 2 years. There are other schools as well, but IEK gives you army presence extension (if you want one). Last, but not least, do yourself a favour and go to England or Germany !!! Just kidding, try buying some magazines as well, they really help: Computer music, Future music, Sound on Sound, Keyboard. They feature stuff truly handy for beginners, and pro's. Have fun!
