well, here in Israel, if you want to protect your copyrights, the easiest way of doing that is mailing your tracks to yourself using Registred mail (Rashum), in a sealed envelope. this envelope will than have exact time and date of sending. lock that in a secure place, and don't touch it. that way, when someone is releasing a track which he claims to be his, while it's yours, you can flash that envelope (assuming it's not tainted, opened or touched in any manner) in a court of law and recieve redemption. of course, if your an established artist, you can also register at ACUM (for a fee) and recieve full protection.

Hello,
In France it is the same thing, you sendings your model at home with an acknowledgement of delivery, and you guards the envelope without opening it but best is of send of the models in 8 bits or mp3 96 kbs.

Another international copyright office I used once is The Library of Congress Copyright office in Washington DC.

How does this thing with the mailing works?
You just post the tracks to yourself and they are copywrited to you?
With that way i can mail an unreleased track to myself and copywrite it for me? (if its not already copywrited offcourse.)

Ok , u need to burn a cd not with the track only ,
the full and playable arrangement from the program
(it can b cubase logic or rebirth ...) , and all samples
too .
But in some cases it dosn't work ,
if the person who want to release yo track without
yo permision will do some editing or mastering to it
all this CD-mail just don't work for copyright . |
