Hello ppl,
Me a little ignorant on the technical side of psy....Can anyone tell me what the difference between a producer and an artist is? I thought they were the same....Well hell yes i know what a DJ is....lol....

Alot of producers in the psy scene are very flippently referred to as artists. |

The difference between a producer and and artist is the same difference between an artist and artisan...
Artisan: also called a craftsman, is a skilled manual worker who uses tools and machinery in a particular craft. > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artisan
Artist: a person whose creative work shows sensitivity and imagination > http://wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
or at least that's the way i see it, but for most purposes they are interchangable words in this scene...

Artist = he creates the music
Producer= is usually the artist himelf, the act of production refers to the technical part of making a track
DJ= he plays the tracks of the other artists and mix them
artist can be producer and dj
DJ can be artist but not necessarly
did i pass??
