Processing the Kick

Life is too short and there is too much music to write. Steal your kicks. Start by stealing boobytrips kick at -8:04 where it solos 
Then download some of the good, snappy, short, yet meaty ones which were included with the kick exchange project, ala colin and thockins. Drop these into a song as a wav, load up that Tau Pro you're obsessed with, turn the accent all the way up, set it for a saw1 and square1, lay down some short 16th notes with alternating lengths (quantize to 64ths) set the kick at -5db, set the bassline at -5db, give or take a db or two one way or the other, now throw in some wizzy noise with a stereo slapback delay, and you're done. Now sell it to some locals.

just one comment, that thing many people say that there are no rules here, and to do what sounds good... sounds right doesn't mean done right. tracks can be good if they sound right but production quality is only achieved by doing right.

i ask myself wich synths are you using and your tweaks.

i really empathise with your love for the scene and everything, but I, (take this personally please, don't need to take it seriously though  ) think you could abstract a bit more from everything, forget that lousy teacher that, if you didn't notest has no respect at all for your person.
