I've already understand how to do those creative pads, with a gate (like they've been choped, but i still could't do it with the c1 gate. I know i should send a rythm through the side-chain channel, but how?? Can anybody help me??
Cheers....

colin I know that plugin. somehow it introduces a low volume click at the beginning of a gated sequence. I tried different settings and some slight attack. couldn't use it properly tho ... any quick work arounds ?
gonzo: I like mgtriggergate (aswell free)
http://www.mgaudio.de/modules/main.php
or camelaudio camel space (not so free)
http://www.camelaudio.com/camelspace.php
I think you could have done the gating aswell with the c1-sc plug of waves. set the pad to the left via panner, trigger signal to the right, route both to a stereo group, set the panner of this group to c/c, set mode in c1-sc to l->r , ratio between 2:1 - whatever, reduce threshold, adjust attack and release to your liking. maybe you need to adjust input/output gain again. pretty complicated but it works you end up with mono but I'm sure one of these geniuses that visit this board could tell you a different way with waves plugs. I actually use this method for sidechaining/ducking my bassline.

It works fine for me with a slope of 0.1 or 0.2 ms. Clicks are sometimes a fact of life when using gates and I've been quite surprised in the past by the famous tracks I've heard that have quite clicky gated parts.

Yeah, Longer attack, balanced with the track delay... so the sound becomes triggered a tad earlier than it says ... smooooth gating

Maybe you could use the Logic 5.5. Side-chaining plug-ins are so easy there wow... and the quality, amazing! Thinking about to spent a lot of money in order to get a Mac + Logic 7. I really love the quality obtained from Logic 5.5 I use and overabuse the gating/compressing side-chain using a lot of complex buses/auxes effects. I don't use my hardware, because Logic is amazing. alex. |
