Problems in automation (Vanguard - OZONE)

Hey, I have a M-Audio Ozone, and that's configured to control vanguard with the knobs, it's working fine, but when I try to Write an Automation it doesn't write. It writes just if I do the automation with the mouse...
I'm using Cubase SX 3...
Can anyone help me?
Someone told me about something called "generic remote", but I don't know that

Indeed it´s done via Generic Remote.
Quick guidelines:
1)Go to "Device Setup". At top left at the DS window, press "+", and choose Generic Remote.
2)Choose the midi inputs/outputs.
3)There´re two main window: Top one shows your controller conections, and Bottom one what device will be controlled.
3.1)Choose the first fader at top window. Click "Learn" and then twist any knob(u should see the midi port changing).
3.2)At Bottom window choose with parameter the fader will move.
4)Press apply.
