I could only recommend not to do the same as the guy in the video cause only by the notches he did on the bass gave me the impression that either he has bad monitoring or doesnt know how to use an eq, you never notch like this in the low end, never and again the note that used is to high for bass.
Imo try to mess out more with the bass synthesizer and its oscillators, experiment with some different combination like 1saw and 1pulse, mix more the one of them and give a slight to the other, try different PWM on the pulse oscillator, have the filter closed or slightly open and use the envelope mix and filter envelope decay to open it as you wish, that will make it fast and not overlap, pay attention to the amplitude decay too, give as much as needed else it going to be mud.
after finding the right balance of the bass to fit with the kick, theres not much to equalize and no way that eq the guy made on the video, you will only have to cut with some notches in areas like between 100-200Hz and 200-350Hz, its up to you to find the spots the are not needed and will make the sound cleaner.
