Hey all,
I think im having a problem with the panning in cubase. Whatever sound i make or load into cubase doesnt seem to pan left or right properly.
Even if i put the pan completely left or completely right, u can still hear it on the other side of the speaker and im sure im not using mono tracks.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?? mayb its somthing to do with the settings? please help guys...
thx in advance |

Advice from the Steingberg forum. I am not sure it's the problem but give it a try.
-- Sound like you've bypassed the panner by accident. Hold <shift>+<alt> and click the pannerfader once (either in the mixer or in the inspector). This way you can toggle bypass on and off for the channel. (It's the channels that's panned, not the track btw. --

Try it out on one track first and see if it correct all of them. If not then probably yes.

Yeah I am trying to crack it myself as I thought that was what he meant. But apparently bypassing the pan is something different. I haven't found out how to do it yet but will tell you if I find out

I think your problem is located there. Because if I set it to this:
I also get the problem with not being able to pan the sound

hmm, standard panner - left right is not on the list i have, it just says 'Pan'.
and on the inspector it says that the midi pan is off. |

try and locate the choice called "more" and see if you can add "standard panner - left right".
or locate "standard panner - bypass" and choose it and set it to "on"
after that set it to "off" and it should work (It does here).

im using cubase 5. This happened just recently, it used to work before, but after i started working on this new project, it stopped panning and now i went back to my previous project and the panning that i did there is gone as well. :S
I couldnt locate the thing in the list btw, even after searching in the "more" section. |
