Trying to set up my friends Cakewalk 500 pro midi controller. Facing an issue assigning knobs on FL 9. When I turn a knob it doesn't automatically detect it. However when I push a key it recognizes that. Where am I going wrong?

u need to assign it as a remote controller (not sure if thats the right terminology for FL9) but in the prefrences set it to active or w/e
