hello everyone , while doing the sound test for my live set, for some weird reason the sound kept dropping after every 5 minutes or even earlier and the only way i could make it come back was by switching off my m-audio audiophile soundcard and back on , but the problem still occured.....I have played wit the same setup before and didnt have this problem , does anyone know this issue
Plz Advice!!

read this, maybe it helps.
i had an m-audio audiophile usb and it just stopped outputting sound during playback (suddenly, with no apparent cause). so i opened it and started to think about how it is built and i found that (strong) voltage transients (caused by some bigger/older electronics switching on/off power, e.g. air dryer or heating) caused it to fail. well, such things should definitely be filtered out by the power supply circuitry (be it externally or internally). bad gear, evil!
cheers all,
dtd

fucking weird , iv also been having similar issues with my interface where a doorbell , turning on the lights / a.c etc suddenly will cause it to hang & restarting is the only fix .. i had thought its a problem in the way my house is wired .. or maybe a ups issue , but its an m audio thing eh .. sux

or sell the usb and buy a firewire-type of the same card, the one i use for my labtop is two years working without problems. if your labtop has the big-firewire connection this soundcard is selfpowered through firewire. |
